Police say man shot multiple times in east Salem Tuesday is in stable condition

A man is in stable condition after being shot multiple times in east Salem Tuesday night, Salem police said in a news release.

Officers found the man with “non-life-threatening injuries” in the 2700 block of Florence Avenue around 4:40 p.m. The victim was taken to Salem Health and is in stable condition.

No suspect was identified, and no arrests have been made, according to police.

Tuesday’s shooting was the fourth in the last month. On Oct. 29, police said a man traded gunfire with officers in downtown Salem before he was shot and killed. Police still have not said whether their officer fired the fatal shot.

On Oct. 26, a Black Salem man was shot and killed in east Salem. A Eugene man who owns a west Salem martial arts business has been charged with murder and bias crime.

On Oct. 19, a Salem teen was shot and seriously injured in east Salem. Marion County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Jeremy Landers said a 16-year-old was arrested in California on Oct. 29 in connection with the crime and charged with second-degree attempted murder.

In September, 18-year-old Andrew Ray Rosas was shot and killed at Hoover School City Park in east Salem.
