
Good evening, Salem.
It won’t help for another week, but city of Salem splash pads are scheduled to be turned on next Friday, June 13, the day after school gets out for the summer.
Salem has seven splash pads, most at neighborhood parks, with two larger pads at Riverfront and River Road parks. A list of locations is here.
“City staff are inspecting all of the splash pads, troubleshooting and making repairs needed to operate them by that date,” a city statement Friday said.
Splash pad operations are among the city services that were restored to Salem’s budget after voters on May 20 passed a tax levy.
