The Latest Stories For You From Salem Reporter

Good morning, Salem.

About a month ago, we wrote about a book drive put on by the East Salem Rotary Club to stock the Little Free Libraries the club maintains.

The volunteer effort aims to get books to kids in Salem neighborhoods that are far from a branch library. We’re happy to report that as the drive wrapped up on Sept. 25, the Salem community purchased over 500 books at the Book Bin to support the effort.

Catherine Carlson, who co-chairs the club’s library project, told us in an email: “Supporting literacy in our east Salem area is a priority for our Rotary club, and we are very grateful for the donations we’ve received from community members.”
