About half our high schools have a free Halloween event where kids can go door to door and get candy from students in costume. Check those out Friday evening at North from 5-7 p.m., and McKay and South from 5:30-7 p.m.
West Salem High School is putting on its harvest festival this evening, Thursday, Oct. 30, from 4-5 p.m.

Lesa Lemons, 71, of Salem was found dead in a home she owned on Oak Park Drive that caught fire Wednesday afternoon. The fire is not considered suspicious, authorities said.
