Salem councilor pitches ban on NDAs, new task force around data center developments

A multibillion-dollar-75-acre data center proposed for Salem’s Mill Creek Corporate Center by a Google-funded company called Verrus will consume the bulk of Monday night’s city council meeting.
The meeting at 6 p.m. on Monday, July 27 at the Salem Public Library downtown will also give Salem residents their first chance to comment on the data center project, which has generated significant concern since it was publicly disclosed last week.

Yeah, Verrsus entering into an NDA with the city, was a bad move on both parts. Nothing like hiding what you’re doing and then going “we’re the good guys! We will use less XYZ!” Yeah, I don’t believe you and my trust with this city is even lower.
