An adventurous cat who got in over her head made it home safe earlier this week, thanks to a few Marion County firefighters.
The Ladder 31 crew from Marion County First District #1 rescued Lila from 77 feet up in a fir tree in the Hayesville area on Wednesday, Feb. 11, Chief Kyle McMann said.
The cat had escaped from home the previous day. “She meowed from the tree all day while crows harassed her,” Lila’s owner, Jan, reportedly told firefighters. Fire district photos from the rescue are below.
