Cupid’s Day Out at the carousel
*Saturday, Feb. 14: Salem’s Riverfront Carousel will have a card workshop, a selfie photo booth and carousel rides for their “Cupid’s Day Out” event on Valentine’s Day. The card workshop and photo booth are free. Carousel rides cost $2 each. A $12 activity pass includes three rides, a Valentine craft, a small popcorn and a goody bag. The event runs from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. The carousel is at 101 Front St. N.E.
Pottery workshop
Saturday, Feb. 14: The Willamette Art Center will host a “Mud & Mingle” workshop for Valentine’s Day, where guests can learn how to make a heart-shaped wall plaque. It will be led by a teacher at the center. Registration is $65, and can be purchased online. Five spots are left in the class. It runs from 6 – 8:30 p.m. The center is at 3995 Fairview Industrial Dr. S.E.
Drag brunch
Saturday, Feb. 14: Salem’s own Lylac will host a drag brunch on the morning of Valentine’s Day at Grand Theatre. The brunch will have food from Encore, served alongside mimosas. Doors open at 11 a.m. and the show starts at 12 p.m. The show is 18 and over. Tickets are $15 for presale, $20 at the door and $10 for brunch. The “Valentine’s Special” package includes two tickets, brunches and mimosas for $50. Tickets can be bought online. The theater is at 191 High St. N.E.
Comedy date night
Saturday, Feb. 14: The Grand Theatre will have a comedy dating show for couples on the evening of Valentine’s Day. The show will combine improv, stand-up comedy and games that involve the audience. Admission is $15 per person or $25 for a couple. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets can be bought online. The theater is at 191 High St. N.E.
Fleetwood Mac tribute concert
Saturday, Feb. 14: Taken by the Sky, a Fleetwood Mac tribute band from Portland, will perform at Elsinore Theatre. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets range $25 – $35. Tickets can be bought online. The theater is at 170 High St. S.E.
Oregon’s largest garage sale
Saturday, Feb. 14 and Sunday, Feb. 15: Oregon’s Largest Open-Air Garage and Vintage Sale is returning to Salem for a weekend-long event at the state fairgrounds in the Jackman-Long Building. The sale runs 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $10 for Saturday and Sunday, or $5 for Sunday. Tickets can be bought online. The fairgrounds are at 2330 17th St. N.E.
