Search underway for coyote that attacked West Salem woman in daytime

Authorities are searching for a coyote who attacked and bit a woman on a road just outside of West Salem on the afternoon of Wednesday, Feb. 11. The coyote was among a group who approached her, according to the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife.

ICE demands information on 19 people from Marion County, court filing shows

Federal immigration authorities are seeking information from Marion County about 19 people, most of whom have prior criminal convictions. County officials are again asking for guidance on how to proceed when Oregon law prohibits them from cooperating with federal immigration enforcement.

Salem man wanted in attempted murder investigation arrested in California

Daniel R. Myers, 62, is accused of trying to murder a woman Tuesday, Feb. 11, after she resisted his attempt to sexually assault her. After the Salem Police Department asked for the public’s help finding him, Myers was located and arrested in California on Thursday, Feb. 12.

Salem father among 2 shot at Keizer Station Monday

Keizer Station was the scene of multiple shootings from late Monday, Feb. 9, into early Tuesday, Feb. 10. Two men were treated for gunshots and a delivery driver had to take refuge in a closed restaurant in an unrelated shooting in Keizer Station.
