Good evening, Salem.

Salem Police responded to two urgent incidents early this morning.

Around 1 a.m., a group of young men had a deadly altercation at a pool hall just east of downtown. The incident sent two men Salem Hospital with stab wounds. One, Isac S. Rizo, 21, died at the hospital. The second received treatment for his injuries.

Salem police officers were still responding to the homicide when, around 3 a.m. 30 gun shots were fired into a house in the Northgate neighborhood. No one was injured, according to police spokesperson Angela Hedrick.
