No injuries after 30 shots fired into NE Salem home

A volley of bullets erupted into a house in Salem’s Northgate neighborhood early Thursday morning.
About 30 shots were fired at 1 a.m. Thursday into a house on the 2900 block of Northeast Sherry Court, according to Salem Police Department spokeswoman Angela Hedrick. The home is several streets away from Northgate Park.
Portions of the house and its fencing were damaged, but no one was injured, Hedrick said. Police had not arrested a suspect as of Thursday afternoon.
Hedrick said she had no additional information and police were still investigating the shooting.
The agency was short-staffed when responding to the shooting because it was already investigating a fatal stabbing east of downtown Salem that occurred around the same time, she said.
