UPDATE: Ethics commission makes final ruling Julie Hoy broke state meetings law
Update Friday, April 10, 1:10 p.m.: The Oregon Government Ethics Commission unanimously approved the final order finding Mayor Julie Hoy broke state law by discussing the city manager’s job performance out of public view. Hoy did not appear at the commission’s Friday meeting, and commissioners did not discuss the order further before voting on it.

How unfortunate that we live in a time when public officials feel license to lie when serving in our name. Worse, when they get away with it.
