Latest data shows fewer people in hospital, but more Marion County residents with COVID-19

Marion County remains the epicenter of Oregon’s COVID-19 outbreak, with twice as many cases per capita as the state average.

As of Friday morning, 508 Marion County residents have tested positive for COVID-19, up from 447 on Monday. Eighteen have died.
The number of people getting positive tests back each day doesn’t appear to be slowing much locally, despite a statewide trend down.
New cases continue to emerge in the Woodburn area, which has borne the brunt of the county’s outbreak. Marion County started releasing information about residents testing positive for COVID-19 by zip code last week. Here’s the latest breakdown. View the county’s heatmap here.
The number of Salem Hospital patients confirmed or suspected to have COVID-19 is declining, and hospital beds remain just over half full.
