ON THE AIR: Marion County commissioners give themselves a review

The topic: About half the homes destroyed in the 2020 wildfires in Santiam Canyon have been rebuilt or are underway, Marion County commissioners reported during the recent “State of the County” annual update. They discussed homeless, addiction and mental health services (original story HERE). State investigation reports give a more complete picture of the events that led to a Marion County farmworker’s death and over $6,000 in fines (story HERE), and a judge ruled the state’s parole board doesn’t have the authority to consider early release of dozens of Oregonians for crimes they committed as minors – a setback for Gov. Kate Brown’s commutation plan (story HERE).

Today’s guest: Ardeshir Tabrizian, Salem Reporter’s public safety and housing reporter.
