Your Monday evening update on Salem news

Good evening, Salem……

For our city and for Oregon, it was a violent weekend.

Here in Salem, shootings at places that included a public park left two people dead and police strained to field enough detectives to investigate it all.

Across the Cascades, Bend endured a shocking shooting at a Safeway, with a customer killed and one store employee killed. Authorities said the employee apparently tried to stop the shooter, who ended up killing himself.

Concerns about gun violence are mounting in Salem, and your team at Salem Reporter will bring you the best information we can. Details, however, are hard to come by while investigations are active. Let us know what you want to know about Salem’s violence and your safety by sending an email to Managing Editor Rachel Alexander ([email protected])

Here’s some of the local news from your team at Salem Reporter. Remember, you can see all of our stories anytime you want on our website.
