Good evening from your team at Salem Reporter.

Over the past two weeks, there’s been a lot of state and local news about the impacts of the Covid pandemic on students.

Oregon has released more data showing student absenteeism was up last year compared to pre-pandemic, though the share of ninth graders on track to graduate from high school also improved after falling.

We’ve gathered some early data from the Salem-Keizer School District about what their fall tests in class are showing and are planning a report diving into what it all means later this week. What questions do you have? What would you like to know? Reach out to Managing Editor Rachel Alexander at [email protected].

In the meantime, Hhre’s some of today’s news. Catch all Salem Reporter’s stories anytime on our website.
