Good evening….

You can get ready for the start of spring with a free music concert in Salem on Saturday.

David Helfand, a Eugene musician and recording artist, is scheduled to perform with his band, the Majestic Ensemble, at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 18.

The show is free and will be in Loucks Auditorium at the Salem Public Library.

“We are celebrating the return of spring and the returning of the light. We perform lush, vibrant original instrumental music along with fiery Irish jigs,” Helfand writes.

This video gives you a sense of what you might hear or you can learn more about Helfand on his website.

The official first day of spring, by the way, is Monday, March 20.
