Good evening, Salem.
Local teachers can get some help with a classroom or school project from the Maps Community Foundation, which has opened applications for its 2023 round of educator grants.
K-12 school teachers in Marion and Polk counties can apply online for a grant of up to $1,000 to pay for technology needs, after-school clubs, field trips or projects.
The application is open until 5 p.m. Oct. 31, and winners will be announced by the end of November.

ATTEND THE TOWN HALL
A Town Hall open and free to the public will explore issues around Salem’s new wage tax. Salem Reporter is hosting the event Wednesday, Oct. 11, at the Elsinore Theatre at 6 p.m. Voters will get a chance to decide whether the tax stays in November.
