A number of other demonstrations and protests are scheduled around Salem this weekend, including a Saturday march at the capitol in support of increasing public school funding, and a Sunday afternoon protest at 25th and Mission asking the city of Salem to end its contracts with Avelo. That protest, organized by Salem’s Democratic Socialists of America, is over the airline’s decision to fly deportation flights for the U.S. government.
