Your Wednesday evening update on Salem news

Good evening, Salem.
If you’ve driven in northeast Salem this week, you may have come across a road closure due to construction.
Starting on Monday, the city closed Northeast Hazelgreen Road between Portland and Cordon Roads for asphalt resurfacing. The construction is expected to continue until June 12, according to the city’s Facebook.
The stretch of road will be closed on weekdays from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m., so drivers, cyclists and pedestrians in the area should plan for delays or find other routes to avoid the construction. During the project, there will be traffic control in the area so pay attention to shifted lanes and detour signs.
A map of ongoing city construction projects is available here for people to stay updated on traffic impacts.
