The National Weather Service is forecasting showers and thunderstorms this week, along with a flood watch for the Salem area starting early Thursday morning.
Expect rain and thunderstorms most of tonight, with wind gusts. Rain and thunderstorms will continue Wednesday, with the rain likely to get heavier after 2 p.m.
Up to 2 inches of heavy rain may fall on Thursday, according to the forecast.
The flood watch is set to be in effect between 4 a.m. Thursday and 4 a.m. Saturday. See a map of the city’s open sandbag filling stations here.
