Your Wednesday evening update on Salem news

Good evening, Salem.
Local kids head back to school next week, but you’ll see school zone speed limits in effect starting Thursday.
The city of Salem is testing flashing school zone beacons in front of schools. Speed limits are 20 MPH when beacons are active.
Bus drivers will also be out driving normal routes this week in preparation for the start of school Sept. 5, the city said. Drivers should be alert and expect to slow down in school zones during the morning commute and in the afternoon when school buses typically run.
