Salem and Keizer police chiefs will be among the speakers at an upcoming gathering of community and neighborhood leaders.

Community Business and Education Leaders is hosting Chiefs Trevor Womack and Andrew Copeland alongside local neighborhood council leaders Maribel Calderon and RJ Navarro, at their monthly gathering Thursday, May 7, from 8-9:30 a.m. It will be hosted at The REC by Valor Mentoring, located at 3500 River Rd. N in Keizer. Register for the event online here.

“Together, we will explore how strong relationships, trust, and a sense of belonging are essential to reducing violence and building lasting safety. Through shared stories and honest dialogue, participants will be invited to listen deeply, reflect on their own experiences, and identify practical ways that community members and public systems can work side by side to prevent violence and strengthen neighborhood safety,” an event description said.
