Good morning, Salem.

More than 30 blind and visually impaired students from across Oregon gathered in Salem recently for some athletic fun.

Western University of Health Sciences Lebanon Oregon

Students played goalball, a Paralympic sport designed for blind and low visions athletes, which requires players to track a ball using sound and defend their goal. They also participated in tandem biking.

The event was held Friday at the Oregon School for the Deaf. It was put on by the Northwest Association for Blind Athletes, a Vancouver, Washington-based organization that works to get blind people outdoors and participating in sports.
