Good morning, Salem.

You’ll be able to dispose of yard waste starting Monday, Oct. 2, at Marion County’s Brown’s Island Compost Facility, 2895 Faragate St. S. Disposal costs $15 minimum for up to 2 cubic yards, and $10 per cubic yard after.

Fees to dispose of other items at county landfills are increasing in October. Small tires without a rim will be $5, while those with a rim will be $10. Appliances with refrigerant, including refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners, will be $25 each.

See more about the fees and get a list of landfill locations, hours and items accepted at mcdisposal.net.
