Good morning, Salem.

Splash pads and spray fountains at city parks are still on and will be until Oct. 1.

The announcement came late, but city officials said this week they’ve elected to leave water features on because of hotter temperatures in September. Historically, water in the parks is turned on around mid-June and off around Labor Day.

That means water will be on at Riverfront and River Road parks from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Neighborhood park water features operate from 12-8 p.m. Those are at Englewood, Fairmount, Northgate, Wes Bennett and West Salem parks.
