Will you join me at the Elsinore?

Good afternoon…
I want you to join me Wednesday evening if you haven’t already planned to head to the Elsinore tomorrow.
Voters will make one of the most consequential decisions in many years in Salem.
The fate of the city of Salem’s new worker tax is on the November ballot.
City leaders say if it doesn’t pass, they’ll have to start cutting back services to Salem residents.
Opponents say a tax on earner wages is unfair and imposing yet another burden on working people.
I’m inviting you to join us for Town Hall: Your Taxes. I’ll be the moderator.
This community forum, free to all, is nonpartisan, produced entirely by your news team at Salem Reporter.
We’ll present the facts about the tax and city spending.
Then you’ll hear from supporters and opponents.
Our journalists will then question them – and present questions submitted by the audience.
This is meant to accomplish one goal: Help voters understand what’s at stake.
The event will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, at the Elsinore Theatre. Tickets for the event are available online at no charge. Capital Community Media will broadcast the 90-minute session on Channel 21.
We have already had hundreds reserve their free seats, and I encourage you to join them. There is no cost, but the online tickets allow the team at the Elsinore to plan for a great evening. I also want to note that we have a tab on our website home page – “Payroll Tax” – that compiles all of our continuing reporting – check it out!
Be informed and be part of Salem’s future. I hope to meet you at the Elsinore.
