For the 11th year in a row, the Salem Area Mass Transit District has received an award for its financial reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association, which seeks to improve public finance in the U.S. and Canada.

The agency, known as Cherriots, again received the group’s Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the fiscal year that ended in June. Cherriots demonstrated clear communication and financial reporting, according a statement from the group.
