Before the city council meets tonight, you can submit comments remotely here from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Written comments can be emailed to [email protected] before 5 p.m. or submitted in person at the city recorder’s office, located at 555 Liberty St. S.E room 225. Include a note that your comment is for public record.
One of the items on tonight’s meeting agenda is reviewing the new ethics rules put in place by the Oregon Government Ethics Commission, which regulates state and local agencies. The new rules have driven city councilors away from attending neighborhood meetings out of fear they might violate ethics law.
