The Latest Stories For You From Salem Reporter

Good morning, Salem.

If you’re a patient at Santiam Hospitals & Clinics, we’d love to hear from you as we continue reporting on the health system’s proposed merger with Salem Health.

Salem Health and Santiam Hospital & Clinics have filed with the state to merge and hope to close a deal this year. Salem Health no longer accepts Regence BlueCross insurance as of 2025, while Santiam does under a contract good until 2027. For now, there are no changes to patient coverage or care as part of the merger plan.

If you have questions, thoughts, and perspectives about this proposed merger and what it means for your health care, please email reporter Hailey Cook at [email protected]. She’s especially interested in hearing from people insured through Regence – including those who may have switched providers from Salem Health to Santiam last year.
