The Salem DEA agent who fatally collided with a cyclist in March admits he ran a stop sign before the collision, but said he was surveilling a suspected fentanyl supplier at the time.
The revelation is one of several in new court filings this week after a federal judge agreed to move the case to federal court. That will allow Samuel Landis, the agent, to argue he is immune from prosecution because he was acting in his capacity as a federal officer.
