Good morning, Salem.

Kids of all ages have a chance to run for a good cause as the Awesome 3000 returns Saturday, May 16.

The annual fun run raised about $30,000 last year for programs and schools within the Salem-Keizer School District. It’s organized by the United Way of the Mid-Willamette Valley.

Registration is now open at $35 per participating student. Kids of any age, from walking to high school, can run, with courses of varying lengths based on age. Volunteers can also sign up to help out. The event takes place at McCulloch Stadium in Bush’s Pasture Park, 890 Mission St. S.E.
