The Latest Stories For You From Salem Reporter

Good morning, Salem.
Marion County is replacing the timber bridge over the Little Pudding River on Northeast Hazelgreen Road near Northeast Torvend Road. Both roads will be closed starting Monday, May 13.
“The current bridge, constructed in 1969, has served the community well for decades. However, due to its narrow design and ongoing maintenance challenges caused by timber decay and traffic impacts, it is time for a much-needed upgrade,” the county said in a news release.
Torvend Road will be reopened by the end of June, while Hazelgreen Road is expected to reopen by Halloween. More information about the project is available on the county website.
