Good morning, Salem.

City officials want your input on a proposed bike path along Pringle Creek, connecting downtown and the city’s Civic Center to Riverfront Park.

The project is currently being designed. It’s intended to connect miles of existing city bike and walking trails in city parks. Construction is currently slated to begin in the fall of 2027.

A city project information page includes a survey and two proposed design concepts. There’s also an open house tonight, Wednesday, April 15, from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at Pringle Community Hall, 606 Church Street. S.E.

The roughly $9.9 million project is funded with money from the infrastructure package voters approved in 2022, along with a state grant and city urban renewal money.
