Good morning, Salem.
The season is well underway, but you can still sign up for the Salem Public Library’s Summer Reading Challenge.
Children, teens and adults earn rewards and chances to win prizes if they sign up and track the time they spend reading or listening to books.
The library also has a listening club for pre-readers and their parents to to help develop “early literacy skills that babies, toddlers and preschoolers need in order to become readers,” according to the city of Salem’s website.

You might have noticed on Wednesday that Marion County’s website was down for much of the day.
While the county was performing web maintenance, some updates caused an issue that made the site inaccessible to the public, according to county spokesman Jon Heynen.
“Our IT experts have identified the issue and have teams working through the night to fix it,” Heynen said Wednesday afternoon. The site was back up Wednesday evening.
