Infinity Room to close in June, co-owners announce
In a Facebook post Sunday, the owners of Infinity Room, a venue for comedy and music in downtown Salem, announced it will close in June. Co-owners Emma Jonas, Chris Pelka and Stan Keightley Jr. said in the post that the closure comes as a result of increased financial strain and impacts to their personal lives.

Following a record number of fatal crashes in 2024, the Salem Police Department will focus on enforcing traffic safety and educating the public for the next three years as part of a new strategic plan. During 2024, Salem police responded to 21 fatal crashes, but the Salem area had 26 in total.

A Salem man charged with stealing from four local businesses was arrested by police on Tuesday. The man, Johnathan D. Korrell, is accused of stealing jewelry, memorabilia, baseball cards and auto shop items worth nearly $150,000.

Under new owner, Salem Golf Club holds onto its history and stays open to the public
Salem Golf Club’s history goes back almost 100 years, to former owner Susan Huston’s grandfather, Ercel Kay, who built the club in 1926. Under new owner Richard Kreitzberg, the club will hold onto its history and remain a public course for the Salem community.
