State asks judge to dismiss Marion County ICE lawsuit
Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield argued in a court filing Monday that a Marion County lawsuit focused on immigration records should be dismissed because Oregon’s sanctuary law and federal laws don’t conflict. He said Marion County should decline federal requests for information related to immigration enforcement unless ordered by a judge to do so.
Measles detected in Marion County wastewater, but no confirmed local cases in 2025
The Oregon Health Authority announced last week that measles was detected in a sample of wastewater at a treatment plant in Marion County. A spokesperson for the agency said there have been no confirmed measles cases in Marion County, and the alert is meant to keep health care providers watchful for potential cases.
