The Latest Stories For You From Salem Reporter

Good morning, Salem.
We’re one day away from a special election that will decide the future of Salem’s budget.
A proposed payroll tax on the ballot is intended to raise money to keep and expand city services. If approved, the wage tax would affect wage-earning and self-employed Salem workers earning above minimum wage for their work performed within city limits.
Ballots are due by 8 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 7. They must be postmarked or returned to a dropbox or county election’s office by the deadline.
Find below our guide to election deadlines, dropbox locations and what’s in the voter’s pamphlet.
