Almost two weeks remain before Election Day on Salem’s controversial payroll tax, but city councilors are getting to work tonight with another discussion of budget cuts that may come if voters say no.
Discussions Wednesday night will center around several hypothetical scenarios city employees have devised, all of which involve cutbacks to the city’s library, parks and other services. Councilors won’t make any decisions Wednesday. Reporter Abbey McDonald outlines the options before them in more detail below, and will have an after-action report later this week.
