Good morning, Salem.

Since May, we’ve reported over 20 stories about the details and potential impacts of the payroll tax, with insight from department heads, city council and everyday Salemites.

Now, you can find all that coverage in a new tab at the top of our homepage.

We’ll continue to add to it ahead of our town hall and beyond to the November election. In the next few weeks, we plan to dig deeper into the impacts of potential cuts, and will continue to ask questions about the tax itself.

We’re also planning to send out a reader survey to hear your thoughts on the city’s proposed cuts if the payroll tax fails, which you can read about here.

There are still seats available at Salem Reporter’s Town Hall, on Wednesday, Oct. 11, where representatives from both sides of the topic will answer questions from the community. Get your free tickets here.
