Our team has spent the past few months working to shed light on the circumstances surrounding the March 28 crash where police say a truck driven by a U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration agent collided with Marganne Allen, a cyclist heading home from work.
City records we recently received show for the first time how closely civilian public information officers from Salem police and the DEA kept in contact in the hours and days following the crash, apparently coordinating how the public would be told about the events that unfolded at the intersection of Southeast High and Leslie streets.
