Good evening, Salem.

It’s a balmy 102 degrees outside as of 4 p.m., but some relief is in sight.

The excessive heat warning that’s been in place for the Salem area and much of western Oregon ends tonight at 11 p.m., and cooler temperatures will roll in.

Tonight’s low is a pleasant 66 degrees. Thursday’s high of 93 should feel cool by comparison, and starting Friday, forecasted highs are in the low and mid-80s. You can see the latest from the National Weather Service’s Portland office here.
