Your Thursday evening update on Salem news

Good evening, Salem.
Maps Community Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Maps Credit Union, is looking for inspiring people in the Salem area.
The foundation is accepting nominations for their 2023 Maps Community Awards through July 15. Nominees should be people in Marion or Polk county who are an inspiration, helping friends, family, neighbors or community.
Winners receive $1,000 to donate to the nonprofit of their choice. Applicants should share how their nominee makes a difference in the community. More information is on the MAPS website.
