Your Wednesday evening update on Salem news

Good evening….
Why not try something a little diffferent with your evening on Thursday?
Salem is fortunate to have venues that put on all varieties of events from local plays to live music to food festivals.
Consider two free events in town Thursday, both related to history.
Watch a film about a piece of U.S. history that is fascinating – and long neglected. “Buffalo Soldiers: Fighting on Two Fronts” starts at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, at Willamette University’.
If you are interested in ancient history, Willamette University has another free evening event for you. A free lecture about an intriguing collection at the Hallie Ford Museum of Art is at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. The event will be in the Paulus Lecture Hall at Willamette’s College of Law, 245 Winter St. N.E.
You can find out the background on both events in stories carried below.
