UPDATED: Power restored for 3,400 in northeast Salem

An outage knocked out power for about 3,400 homes and businesses served by Portland General Electric in northeast Salem Tuesday afternoon.
The utility reported the outage at 12:40 p.m. Power was back on at 2:25 p.m.
Tuesday afternoon has been windy in Salem, with the National Weather Service’s Portland office forecasting a west wind of 10 to 13 miles per hour, with gusts up to 20 miles per hour.
The outage was caused by an “equipment issue,” PGE spokeswoman Marsha Sanchez said.
