Southeast Salem streets slated for closures, repairs starting Monday

Drivers on Southeast Liberty Street may see delays overnight starting Monday as city crews begin sewer repairs.

Two other roads in southeast Salem are also slated for utility work and closures.

On Liberty Street, repairs to sanitary sewer lines from Southeast Mission Street to the Salem Civic Center will take place from Sept. 19 to 23.

Southeast Battle Creek Road and Southeast Landau Street will also be closed Monday for utility work expected to last through mid-October, though local access will be available.

Battle Creek will be closed between Southeast Boon Road and Wiltsey Street. Landau will close between Southeast Reed and Battle Creek roads.

“Message boards and marked detours will be in place to direct traffic around this area. Please use extra caution and anticipate some travel delays,” the city said in a news release. “The closure is necessary to accommodate the installation of new water, storm water, and sanitary sewer lines.”

The city’s road conditions map has updated information about road closures in effect.
