Salem Health asks emergency approval from state for Stayton hospital acquisition

A rural Marion County hospital could go insolvent if the state does not allow Salem Health to buy it, hospital leaders said Wednesday.

Salem Health, a healthcare giant in the region, and Santiam Hospital & Clinics filed for the state’s approval of the acquisition at the start of the year.
