Good morning, Salem.

Two Salem restaurants announced their closures on Thursday.

Epilogue Kitchen & Cocktails, home to James Beard-recognized chef Jonathan Jones, will stop regular meal service in August.

That comes after the restaurant moved from downtown to a new location in Pringle Creek late last year.

“Everyone is motivated by a unique set of factors, and my boxes aren’t being checked well or frequently enough for me to continue breaking myself,” Jones wrote in a announcement. He said Epilogue would continue to offer weekly family-style dinners.

Paradiso at the Grand Theatre also announced it would close this week.

“Unfortunately, due to unforeseen staffing challenges, including the recent and unexpected departure of our head chef, we are unable to continue operating at the level of quality and consistency that we believe you deserve,” an announcement said. Its sister restaurant, Paradiso on the Green, will remain open.
