They gathered along the streets, on the lawns and under the trees at the Capitol Mall for the “No Kings” protest on Saturday, June 14.
Thousands, perhaps up to 5,000, demonstrated peaceably against the federal government.
Their signs and chants made that evident in the hours-long event.
Similar protests popped up across Oregon – in Burns, Roseburg, Yachats and Medford, for example.
The target of much of the ire – President Donald Trump – meantime sat on a viewing stand in Washington, D.C., watching a military parade.
