Chemeketa Comunity College appears poised to pass its bond measure to pay for campus renovations after initial tallies had the measure nearly tied.
Many candidates and the city of Salem are waiting to declare victory or concede loss until Thursday evening, however, when Marion County will post an updated ballot count. That typically includes nearly all ballots received, though a few will trickle in in the mail over the next week.
Some voters with signature issues can “cure” their ballots, shifting final tallies a bit until a June 10 deadline.
