Good evening, Salem.
The City Nature Challenge is a four-day event from April 25-28 where people are encouraged to go to local parks and city events and find animals and plants in nature. Participants will use an app called iNaturalist to take pictures of wild plants and animals which will be put into a database to help scientists study biodiversity.
People can contribute observations and photos on their own and by attending city “bioblitz” events. As part of the challenge, the city of Salem is hosting events at Minto Brown Island Park and Bush’s Pasture Park on April 25 and 26.
More information about the challenge and how to participate in it is available here.
